Season 1 of the Great Canadian Band challenge is coming to a close with the airing of the show on television and the tour of the winning band – the Apollo Effect. The Apollo Effect which now has a single climbing up the Canadian Rock Radio Charts. Due to the success of season 1 with over 5 million impressions in under two months, Season 2 is gearing up to begin.
Now in its second year the Great Canadian Band Challenge will once again bring talented Indie Bands together to compete online and at a live event. The event will be held in Toronto where the bands will be judged by a panel of industry professionals and the 800 invited guests. In addition to the already spectacular line up of Indie Bands we will have a major headliner perform on the second night after the winning band has been announced. The whole event will be recorded for television broadcast. The show will be aired on the Bite and Joost network which includes a cable channel, mobile, web and podcasting.
